Very very nice... :)

Inkscape, draw freely.

Good, Simple and Clear ;)...

Thankyou :) It was a lot more tedious to create than I expected. I had to fight the urge to not get lazy about it which may have made it less clear.

Just downloaded Inkscape...I like the setup it has, it seems like a nice program. This is a great, simple tutorial, I will definitely refer back to this as I am learning Inkscape. :) Thank you!

Ah just what I needed, images are self-explanatory without the need to read lot of documentation. Appreciate the help micro. I think of a small criticism? Make into an .svg to practice with. Also was it mentioned that selecting mulitiple nodes requires shift?
:iconmicrougly:
I guess I assumed people know how to use Shift as it performs the same function in almost all software.

I attempted to make this guide in Inkscape but it was too tedious to control the layout. I also tried Scribus but HTML was so much easier thanks to CSS.

I don't get why this tutorial isn't more popular, because this is Definitely an awesome tutorial for anyone interested in Inkscape! (then again, it might be due to the fact that Inkscape isn't very popular yet, period?) This tutorial gives an overview of the things people need to know to get started, without forcing them to find it all through those very long manuals.

I myself read the manual before coming across this, but I'd certainly have appreciated having the essentials like this in one handy file. The only thing that I'd add is that you have the option to turn off the visibility of the node handles from time to time, and just drag around the path without using them. It's easier on the eye (at least for me) when you otherwise have to struggle with nodes and handles mixed together all over the place. XD It's a small interface thing though.

Overall, Great work! :) And your other works inspired me to try out the gradients too, so much thanks there. ;)

I would say there isn't much of an inkscape audiance. DA doesn't even have a tutorial category for it. Which is a shame, it's such an easy application to pickup.

I wasn't really familiar with turning off node handles. I've never played with a drawing by dragging just the path instead of a handle.

There's probably a lot of handy features like that that could go into their own tutorial about the Inkscape interface, including Outline display mode, etc. But I'm not familiar with most of those tricks myself :)
