"The pistol is like part of my hand. With it I'm a super-hero..."

Witchblade - Issue 01 - Page 09-10
Pencils: Michael Turner
Inks: D-Tron
Colours: Nathan Cabrera

Vectored by me.

Created in Illustrator CS2. Created for fun. It's been a fantastic learning experience. Both for learning the tools an understanding of lighting. I look forward to using some of these techniques in a drawing that is a little more original.

I suck at creating backgrounds so if anyone has some tips to make this a better wallpaper, leave a comment.

EDIT: I printed this on A3 paper with the colour-laser at work and was tickled by how good it looked (I love resolution-independent images). It just needed a more eye catching heading. So I changed the Witchblade writing from a Red/Grey outline to a tasty Lemon/Lime filling.

WoooOoW!! Great job! I think is perfect , I don't see any problem. Now you have to vectorize the rest of that comic.

Sure thing - I should be finished that one issue by the time I'm 80 :)

Thanks for your comment. It's got me beat how you can create the pictures you do without the flexibilty of digital tools. This vector tracing hardly seems worthy of your attention :)

Thanks. As much as I like this picture, it is just a tracing - a test of my patience and skills with the tools. It has no artistic merit. But it was a great learning aid.

I realized that, but the shading done with the vectors - I am impressed by that.

Judging from your gallery, you are far more experianced with Illustrator than I am :) I've just copied what I see, but your illustrations have a unique style.

I don't have any tutorials, but when I need help I go to the forums at [link]

Those artists techniques are far more advanced than my own. This illustration is pretty simple when you break it down. But the ones you linked to build up the drawing using a many semi-transparent shapes. I'm not talented enough to see those shapes and apply colours that well.
